Dissection of heart and lungs!

6JD had the fantastic opportunity to dissect a heart and lungs in order to consolidate their learning about the Human Body. It was great that we were all able to identify all the key features of the organs of which were studied prior to the activity. Year 6 were brave, sensible, mature and were able to carry out the activity with a focus of developing their understanding if the organs.

  2. I enjoyed dissecting the heart and lungs because there was some features of the heart that I did't know about like the Aorta and I also enjoyed using the scalpel to cut the heart and lungs open(But I felt a bit sick afterwards.)

  5. I liked dissecting the pigs heart and lungs because it was interesting to see what the right ventricle and left ventricle looked like and having the chance of actually viewing a pigs heart and lungs. When I showed my dad one of the videos he said he felt sick!
